From the reviews
The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art is one of our favorite places to visit in Sarasota. We love it so much that we try to go at least once a month. One of the best things about it is that admission is free on Mondays, which makes it an easy and worthwhile visit even if you just want to walk around for a while.
Everything about this place is worth seeing. Paid the extra for the Ca' d'Zan mansion tour (first floor only). Can only imagine life in the 1920s and the history of Ringlings success is unbelievable for that era. The circus model was phenomenal and interactive.
Amazing Museum and grounds! We personally enjoyed touring the Ringling’s house, amazing art collection, and grounds more than the actual circus museum. The circus museum felt a little underwhelming, but the rest of the property makes up for it. The art collection was some of the best I have ever seen.
Coming back to The Ringling after 20 years hit a little differently—in the best way. Growing up in Sarasota, I guess I took it for granted, but bringing my kids this time around really put it into perspective. I was incredibly lucky to have something like this in our backyard.
Getting married at The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
