I had my wedding June 13 2025 at Captain Bills and stayed the weekend with the OceanBay house. Going in i was a little nervous and maybe even a bridezilla because i was afraid of the stay for my guests and the rules seemed a bit stricter being it was not an airbnb but a bed and breakfast.
My family and a few friends booked the entire home for my daughter's wedding weekend. The Ocean Bay House is lovely, clean, and conveniently located in Bay Shore. Liz was attentive and helpful concerning our need to prepare for a morning ceremony.
Visited with my wife in summer 2021 and stayed for three nights. This B&B is located in a lovely property, it is well decorated, welcoming and spotlessly clean. Liz and Jen were wonderful hosts, they are very nice, and made homemade pancakes, scones and waffles every morning.
We cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience staying at The Ocean Bay House for our wedding weekend with all our family. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and kindness by Liz.
Getting married at The Ocean Bay House
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
