I can’t express enough how great this place really is. Before arriving I was a little hesitant because you never know what you’re going to get when staying in a location like this. The host/owner Jacqueline made our stay so special.
The Pink Lady in Eureka, California, was built in 1889 by lumber magnate William Carson as a wedding gift for his son, J. Milton Carson, and his wife. Designed by the Newsom brothers, the house is a classic example of Queen Anne Victorian architecture, featuring an ornate turret, decorative woodwork, stained-glass…
This spot was such a meaningful and beautiful stay. Jacquline and Mario are attentive, kind hosts, whose passion for restoring the space is so apparent and appreciated. Walking down the stairs in the house had me feeling like Eliza Doolittle and Pollyanna — the atmosphere was both elegant and cozy.
I would give a 5 star but the mattress is a little more firm than I like. Aside from that, the lady that owns the place is suuuper nice and professional, her son who helps manage the place is excellent and super friendly and professional! The house is clean and smells clean!
Getting married at The Pinc Lady Mansion
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
