We just had our wedding reception at the River View in November. We booked the venue about 2 1/2 years in advance because we truly did fall in love with the venue. We loved the trees when you drive down on to the property. The venue has a great outdoor space for us to have cigars and smores during the after party.
The Riverview is a beautiful location for your wedding day. The view of the river, the unique reception space and a wonderful catering team makes this the perfect location to say "I Do" for the northern Virginia bride!
I love The River View at Occoquan. I shot a wedding here in October and it was pouring down raining. Everything had to get moved indoors and this space was able to accommodate the last minute changes.
As a wedding planner, I definitely recommend this venue! We did a wedding here in Fall 2018 shortly after they opened, and I must say that the staff is amazing. I was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism and experience from the staff since the venue is so new.
Getting married at The River View at Occoquan
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
