From the reviews
Great staff and awesome property but they need to lower the rate or increase the value. On the one hand, this hotel is great. Very nice location, beautiful rooms, easy to access your car/room. Great bathroom toiletries, friendly staff, amazing beach access and outdoor amenities.
The Sanderling is a gem. We went for a conference and found the grounds, pool, hot tub, bonfire, and beach to be immaculate. The staff are AMAZING! So kind, so friendly, and really went out of their way to help us on several occasions.
Stayed here for 3 nights over a weekend in early June for a mini-moon after getting married earlier in the week. Was hesitant in some regards due to some poor reviews I read, but I can honestly say we had an amazing experience!
We had such a wonderful stay at the Sanderling Resort. It has a quiet luxury feel while still being very warm and welcoming. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, and the views of both the ocean and the sound were incredible.
Getting married at The Sanderling Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
