My husband and I love going to Cannon Beach and we have stayed with various rooms and buildings owned by The Waves. We have never had a bad experience! Last time we visited my husband proposed to me while we were staying at the White Heron Lodge, so it only made sense that we also get married in Cannon Beach :) when I…
We felt lucky to get a room here at the last minute on a Monday night at the end of August. We had a room in the back row above the garages. The King bed was very comfortable with high quality bedding. My daughter enjoyed the twin bed in the alcove, with an easy to use curtain to separate the space.
Have been coming to Cannon Beach for many years, but this was the first time staying at The Waves. Overall we had a wonderful stay! We opted for the garden court room which was newly updated. Bed was extremely comfortable, nice bathroom and still had a nice view of the property.
I never understood some of the rating system for the hotels where you’ll find a hotel that’s actually a four star but it’s being rated as a two star and vice versa. This is one of those places where you know it the experience, the air the smell the sound ocean location.
Getting married at The Waves Cannon Beach
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
