From the reviews

We truly could not have asked for a better four-night stay at Trailborn. In our opinion, they’ve done an excellent job updating and modernizing the old Blockade Runner in Wrightsville. While there are still a few areas that could potentially use updating, nothing took away from our overall experience.

Y’all RUN to this place! It was everything I wanted and more. The staff are so kind and helpful. The location is perfection, the beach is incredible, and the hotel food is pretty good for hotel food. Parking was also very easy. In-room camping was adorable and my kid loved it.

We would like to thank Helen for making us feel so welcomed and just like family. We must’ve asked her 100 questions and she answered them all with Grace and professionalism. The Bar staff is amazing.

Rooms and hotel were clean. Older building but well cared for and remodeled. Valet parking was included at no cost other than tipping. Staff was very friendly and supportive. No morning coffee and limited drinking water in lobby areas. Beach chairs and coffee were extra costs. Wonderful stay for 2 days ocean front.

Getting married at Trailborn Surf & Sound

Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
