From the reviews
I cannot begin to describe how much I loved touring this “palace.” Tina did an excellent job giving us so much details into the whys and hows this place was built. All the buildings were brought back to life through artifacts, reproductions, and staff dressed in their Georgian best.
Pretty fun and interesting tour. The building isn't original for the most part, but is a recreation from the 50s. The tour was nice, although the guide's voice was a little quiet and hard to hear. A fun quick tour to do in the area, ans the grounds are nice to walk through.
We had a wonderful time visiting Tyron Palace! The experience was both enjoyable and very informative. The ticket purchase process was easy and convenient right at the entrance, which is housed in a charming little building that sets the tone for the visit.
The tour was quite informative. The guide did an excellent job telling stories about Governors Tryon and Martin and the historical time period in which they served. The guided walk lasted about an hour, but a day pass affords an opportunity to wander the grounds, gardens, and outer buildings at your own pace.
Getting married at Tryon Palace
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
