This waterfront park situated in Old Town Alexandria provides a picturesque view of the National Harbor, MD, and DC. You can enjoy a stroll or jog on its well-paved area along the waterfront. The park has numerous restaurants along the way to indulge in a delightful meal while enjoying the view.
I love the Waterfront Park. I go there all the time to listen to music, look at the people enjoying the outdoors, kids running around, and just look at the river. There is always something going on and new improvements to the eating area make the park more enjoyable.
Getting married at Waterfront Park
Waterfront Park is a public beach or park, so a ceremony here almost always needs a permit from the managing city, county, or state parks office — and the rules matter: many public beaches cap your guest count, set ceremony windows, and restrict what you can set up (some ban chairs, arches, and amplified sound entirely). There's no on-site coordinator, catering, or weather backup, so you'll bring your own vendors and a rain plan. The payoff is a stunning setting at a fraction of a private venue's cost. Start with our public-beach permit guide, then call the local office to confirm this season's rules.
