We spent 3 days here for a wedding and enjoyed the stay, it was a very nice family friendly place. The natural scenery is breathtaking, especially the sheer cliffs dropping into the lake. When the weather is warmer they say these are great for cliff jumping.
Happy to leave a very positive review for Basin Harbor (though I am not one to leave reviews). Our cabin was comfortable and clean. The staff was remarkably friendly. The grounds were beautiful. The views of the lake were amazing. We left North Carolina to get out of the heat and take in some beauty. We got both.
My extended family and I had a wonderful time at Basin Harbor this past weekend. 50 of us convened to celebrate my grandmother, Marcia, who would have been 90 years old this weekend. Everything about the resort was spectacular.

Getting married at Basin Harbor Resort - Lake Champlain
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
