The only reason I didn’t give this place a 5 star is because I need to level set with everyone and let them know you’re not walking into a Ritz Carlton. You’re beach side motel in the panhandle of Florida (aka the redneck Rivera.) Now with that said - THIS PLACE IS A LITTLE GEM!!!!
I enjoyed the ocean view room a lot. There were just a couple of issues. One was a humming motor sound that lasted through most of my stay that maintenance could not seem to shut off. And the other was the surprise at the bill at the end of the stay, Some hidden resort fees that I did not realize.
Overall although not a fancy motel, the rooms were nice and clean, well stocked with towels and toiletries. My daughter had booked for us and had requested an ocean view but it worked out we were one room back. It was okay and close to the beach access, just no view.
This place was perfect! The location was so convenient, two beautiful walkways to the beach. A delicious donut, coffee shop and pizza place within walking distance. The staff was the BEST! Christina, Forrest, Hannah and MrLarry, they were all top tier! I can not say enough good things about this place!
Getting married at Buccaneer Inn
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
