My wife and I made a wrong turn headed back from Ragged point...we wanted to stop by the San Simeon pier.....we stumbled upon this place and wandered in to a potential wine tasting (maybe) and a look around the store. We were offered the last seating (3:30pm) for tasting and they walked us out to the table.
We got our food over at Sebastian‘s General store and they allow you to bring it over to the winery to sit outdoors outback and have beautiful views of the water. They have nice picnic tables with umbrellas. The service was top-notch.
Can’t beat this ocean view when sitting outside. Just gorgeous. The whole experience was so good. I just wish they had the food here too. That would have made the experience much better. Instead you have to go across the street to a tiny general store where the items are unreasonably expensive.
I'll start off with one word. Jody. The view, the wine, was all great but what made this visit special was the one that sat us and helped us. She is a true asset . We will be back. Btw the 20 dollar chocolates are worth it.
Getting married at Hearst Ranch Winery Warehouse
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
