From the reviews
We had a great stay. We stayed in a room in the Starky Lodge suites. The rooms were clean and convenient. There're was a clean smell to the room, but not masked with air fresheners. A kitchenette with anything you would need, a microwave, full size stove/fridge, tea kettle and coffee pot.
I was there recently with my sister. We are in our 70s and don't get to see each other often. We had the most wonderful time...a real bonding experience! The accommodations were exceptional. The office staff was great. It was the next thing to a private beach. Every need had been anticipated.
Third time staying in Sanibel. This hotel (or Inn) is amazing. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room is amazing. Huge space, nice kitchen and supplies, balcony with a lot of chairs and table to sit and relax. King size bed was great and bathroom has 2 sinks - identical as photos.
Having spent my childhood summer's on the Island and properties there since 1980, the post-hurricane recovery appears to be well underway and the island is coming back to life. This hotel was phenomenal.
Getting married at Island Inn
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
