Our trip to Salted Roots was restful beyond words. We absolutely loved the A-frame. Thoughtful touches throughout made for an unforgettable stay, from the artisan chocolates and sauces to the locally crafted ceramics and art. Comfy king sized bed in the main suite with XL twin beds on the second floor.
We stayed at the purple cabin and it was amazing. The bathroom was really nice with big tub and separate shower. The kitchen also came with basic utensils, pots, pans and seasonings/condiments.
Matt + KellyAnn are the sweetest people, who have crafted the coolest A-frames in Alaska. They take care of their people and accommodated us so well. I'm wedding photographer and LOVED staying here and hosting my clients for photos in the area.
While I haven't had the opportunity to stay at the Salted Roots Cabins myself (yet), I have had the opportunity to visit and experience it several times while photographing wedding and elopement days and am OBSESSED!
Getting married at Salted Roots Cabins
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
