From the reviews
This hotel is so wonderful! We had such a great time and felt well taken care of. The rooms were clean and bed comfortable. Close to the beach, good food around, a well stocked grocery store! It was a great short weekend getaway. My only critiques are so minor and personal that it doesn’t matter.
I’ve stayed at nearly all of the hotels in this group and while the staff can be a bit dodgy at some of them, the staff at the Shelburne is impeccable. The manager, Leah, is so warm and friendly and genuinely excellent at her job.
We did not stay at the Shelburne Hotel but held an event there. The room our group had reserved for several hours for a Celebration of Life was beautiful. We had a group of 14 including children and it was perfect. The Shelburne provided food and drinks which were delicious.
Convenient location, great charm, but rooms are on smaller side and didn't have a lot of amenities like fridge, microwave etc. Loved the key code system they use though!
Getting married at Shelburne Hotel
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
