From the reviews
Just got back from spending a week staying at the Dove Winds. This sis our 7th or 8th time staying at this place. Best place to stay on Chincoteague Island! The price is right, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is equipped, the A/C is cold and the location is great!! Did I mention the indoor heated pool!
We stayed here for our 5th Anniversary. The location is great and we loved the pool and Maui Jack passes! The towels were mismatched which was kinda random but was ok. Very quiet and friendly. Will definitely be back!
The window air conditioners could be updated for more sufficient cooling, but the service and responsiveness of the owner is great. The main sliding glass doors on all cabins makes a weird squeaky squeal that may get slightly annoying after a while but that is not something that I would take a star for.
Stayed for a week with my husband and two children. The location and amenities were great! Walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and bikeable to Assateague. Didn’t hurt that the McDonald’s was across the street for picky eaters.. We used the indoor pool everyday, it was great to give our skin a break from the sun.
Getting married at The Reef
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
