From the reviews

Really lovely place, came to see the Redwoods, but became transfixed by the King Range and Lost Coast as well, and Shelter Cove is right there. Visit was in April, off season I think, so not sure if everyone's experience exactly the same.

We flew in to Shelter Cove in a small plane: our first time there. Weather is always an issue at the coast but Nikki assured us that she would work with us to reschedule, if necessary. She even offered to meet us at our parking spot to help us with our bags.

I fell in love with Shelter Cove and the Oceanfront Inn this weekend. It's located right on the cliff and the views are breathtaking. I came here with my dog for a solo birthday trip and I had the best time. Everyone we met was so kind and welcoming. We stayed in the downstairs apartment and everything was perfect.

We stayed in a 1-bedroom apartment with a huge terrace and a breathtaking ocean view. The road to get here is long but very scenic, even passing through redwoods. The location is secluded, yet the service is excellent and very friendly, and the hotel provides internet access.

Getting married at The Shelter Cove Oceanfront Inn

Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
