My husband and I are frequent guests of The Tranquil House Inn. It is one of our very favorite places to stay during a getaway. The location is stunning, the rooms are clean and well-appointed, and the atmosphere is relaxing - even during the busiest of Manteo's celebrations.
This is a small traditional inn. The rooms are delightful and clean. Each room has a gentle beachie feel. No, not spa bathrooms, not huge wasted space, just a warm beach welcome where you can relax. We love the Tranquil House. The name says it all!
We had a wonderful stay at this inn. The property was very clean and well-maintained, making it feel comfortable and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The service was excellent, the staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The location was also convenient and added to the overall experience.
Chuck did an amazing job at making us feel welcome and helping us find exactly what we needed. The rooms were cute, comfortable and well appointed. The views are marvelous and downtown Manteo is the prime spot for this adorable hotel!!
Getting married at The Tranquil House Inn - Manteo, NC
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
